NewYorkBIO and Empire State Development Have Partnered to Give 11 Emerging Biotechs the Opportunity to Attend the 2016 BIO International Convention in San Francisco
The BIO International Convention attracts over 15,000 biotechnology and pharma leaders who come together for one week of intensive networking to discover new opportunities and promising partnerships. This event covers a wide spectrum of life science
and application areas including drug discovery, biomanufacturing, genomics, biofuels, nanotechnology and cell therapy.
This year, the Convention will take place in San Francisco, June 6-9.
NewYorkBIO has been awarded a grant from Empire State Development to provide financial support to 11 emerging New York companies to attend this vital event and to meet with some of the thousands of attendees in partnering and presentation sessions.
"I am very excited to be able to help bring New York's bioscience entrepreneurs to San Francisco for the 2016 BIO International Convention," said Nathan Tinker, Executive Director of NewYorkBIO, "and I thank Howard Zemsky and the Empire State Development team for providing the grant to make this happen."
The grant awardees come from all across New York State and represent a broad range of technologies, disease areas, and therapeutic approaches.
Along with appearing and participating in other panels and sessions at the Convention, the awardees will give company presentations in the New York Pavilion on the Convention's Exhibition Floor. Some of the entrepreneurs have also received special invitation from BIO to present their companies in the BIO Start-up Stadium.
